Transparency Maldives is hiring a lawyer and a legal assistant for the Advocacy and Legal Advice Centres (ALACs). The main purpose of the ALACs are to provide legal advice to victims and witnesses of corruption.

Advocacy and Legal Advice Centres (ALACs)

Position Summary: Lawyer

The tasks of the lawyer in the Advocacy and Legal Advice Centres project are to:

  1. Provide quality legal advice to citizens to help them pursue their corruption related complaints;
  2. Develop effective case management systems and procedures;
  3. Establish internal review mechanisms to ensure the quality of legal assistance provided to clients;
  4. Ensure professional and service oriented approach to prospective cients contacting the ALACs; and
  5. Support ALAC advocacy efforts to use individual cases to bring about systematic change.

Remuneration: Negotiable, based on experience and qualification

Contract duration: 12 months. Extension of contract on mutually agreed terms.

The tasks of the Legal Assistant in the Advocacy and Legal Advice Centres project are to:

  1. Scrutinize clients seeking legal advice;
  2. Ensure smooth operation of the legal advice hotline;
  3. Maintain a database of complaints for the purposes of tracking the complaint progress;
  4. Conduct legal research for the lawyer;
  5. Assist clients in preparing their complaints; and
  6. Assist the ALAC lawyer in preparation of documents and letters on behalf of clients.

Remuneration: Negotiable, based on experience and qualification

Contract duration: 12 months. Extension of contract on mutually agreed terms.

Consultant to prepare a manual on local governance (expired)

Position Summary: Consultant

The tasks of the consultant are to produce a manual on local governance and conduct a two-day training of trainers for the project staff based on the manual.

Remuneration: Mrf/- 30,000

Consultant to prepare TM's strategic action plan (expired)

Position Summary: Consultant

The consultant will be in charge of reviewing current policies and strategies of Transparency Maldives, set out clear objectives for a new strategic plan and develop a three-year strategic plan along with an appropriate organizational structure based on these objectives.

Climate Change Governance Project (expired)

Transparency Maldives is hiring a Project Coordinator and two Project Officers for the Climate Change Governance Project. This is a joint project by Transparency International Bangladesh, Transparencia Mexicana (Mexico), Proética (Peru), Transparency International Kenya, Participación Ciudadana (Dominican Republic) and Transparency Maldives, administered by Transparency International Secretariat in Berlin.
 

Position Summary: Project Coordinator (expired)

The project coordinator will be responsible for the overall running of the project including, among other things, managing the project budget, adhering to donor reporting requirements. The Project Coordinator will be assisted by a Project Officer and will report to the Executive Director.

Transparency Maldives is looking to hire two Project Officers for the Climate Change Governance Project.

The project officer will assist the Project Coordinator for the overall running of the project including, among other things, managing the project budget, adhering to donor reporting requirements as well as any other tasks assigned by the management.

Position Summary: Communication Officer (expired)

The Communications Officer is a key member of the Transparency Maldives team. The Communication Officer is responsible for producing content for and maintaining TM websites, liaising with designers and printers with publications, writing press releases and articles and managing media contacts for Transparency Maldives. In addition to that the CO will be responsible for coordinating and publishing TMs annual reports and other publications such as the members quarterly newsletter. The Communications Officer works closely with the Project Coordinators and reports to the Executive Director.

The Administrative Officer is a key member of the Transparency Maldives team. He/She is responsible for ensuring that the TM office functions optimally, efficiently and in an orderly manner. The Administrative Officer works closely with the Finance Officer and reports to the Executive Director.
