National Integrity System (NIS) Country Study
Transparency International (TI) developed the National Integrity System (NIS) Country Study to analyze the effectiveness of a country’s integrity system, as well as to incorporate the input of non-government stakeholders in the devising targeted national anti-corruption strategies. Through its in-depth, comparative examination of different institutions, the NIS Country Study also reveals which sectors are in most pressing need of reform. The NIS Country Study provides a benchmark for any future assessment of the efficacy of national reforms, and serves as a reliable basis for future planning and evaluation of Transparency Maldives’ activities and programs.
More than sixty NIS Country Studies have been produced by other TI affiliates and the publication of such a study on the Maldives would enrich an international resource of best practices and recommendations in the fight against corruption.
